Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-06
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of ListCheckup (the “Service”), operated by ListCheckup ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation.
2. The Service
The Service checks whether email addresses are formatted correctly, whether their domains can receive mail, and whether their mail servers will accept mail for a given mailbox. It returns a status, a reason code, and a confidence score.
The Service does not send email to the addresses you submit. It does not find, generate, or supply email addresses, and it provides no contact data of its own.
3. Accuracy and limitations
Verification is inherently probabilistic. Some mail servers accept every address, and some refuse to answer address queries at all. In these cases the Service reports Catch-all or Unknown together with a low confidence score.
We do not warrant that a result marked Valid will be delivered, or that a result marked Invalid could never be delivered. You are responsible for how you act on results, including any decision to remove addresses from your own records.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- verify addresses you obtained without a lawful basis, including scraped or purchased lists you have no right to process;
- support the sending of unsolicited bulk email, or any activity that violates anti-spam law in the recipient's jurisdiction;
- enumerate, guess, or harvest addresses, including submitting generated permutations of a domain's addresses;
- circumvent credit limits, rate limits, or authentication, or resell the Service without a written agreement;
- interfere with the Service or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, without refund, and may do so immediately where continued use would harm the Service or third parties.
5. Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in details confidential. Notify us promptly at support@listcheckup.com if you believe someone else has gained access to it.
6. Credits and payment
The Service is sold as verification credits, bought outright. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. One credit corresponds to one address checked. Credits are consumed regardless of the resulting status, including Catch-all and Unknown results, because the verification work is performed either way.
Addresses that fail on format alone, and duplicates within a single upload, are not charged: no mail server is contacted for them.
Credits do not expire and are not reduced by inactivity. Unused credits may be refunded within 14 days of purchase; credits already spent are not refundable, as the work they paid for has been carried out.
Closing your account forfeits any unused credits. The number about to be lost is shown before you confirm, and nothing is closed until you do. If you have credits you would rather be refunded, contact us before closing and we will consider it on the terms above.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, who act as merchant of record and are responsible for billing, invoicing, and collection of applicable sales tax or VAT. Paddle's own terms apply to the payment transaction.
7. Refunds
If the Service fails materially and we cannot resolve the failure, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will consider a refund of unused credits. Credits already consumed are not refundable. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded are unaffected.
8. Your data
Addresses you submit are processed on your instructions in order to return verification results. We do not sell, rent, or share submitted addresses, and we do not use them to build marketing lists. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and, for business customers, the data processing terms.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Verification depends on third-party mail servers we do not control, and their behaviour may change without notice.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost business, or loss of data.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in the application at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Albania, and the courts of Tirana have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
